Topic Research: OU Ghosts

The storybook project topic that I chose to dive into the most was the OU ghosts topic. I found this topic interesting, and my story this week was actually related to this general idea. The story of the spirit of achilles just seemed to fit perfectly with an OU ghost story. My story was completely made up, but I could use stories based on actual ghost stories in the future. I look into the resource provided about campus ghosts of Norman by Jeff Provine.  There are three possible stories that I could use in my own storytelling in the future. The first is ghostly music and whispers in campus buildings at night. This story somewhat matches the story that I just wrote for week 3, as a student on campus was speaking with a ghost in the dorms. The other is ghostly patients in the old infirmary. I am interested in medicine, so this would be an especially cool topic for me. I could find a reading that somehow fits and write a story about some patients-turned-ghosts at OU. The third is the topic of the ghostly sorority sisters in their houses. I could get ideas from the future readings for the basis of my plot while tying them back to the three topics that I just mentioned. All that being said, I am still somewhat interested in doing a portfolio project as there are just so many wide ranging interests and possible stories from the diverse future readings. This will no doubt be a difficult decision.

  1. Hello, Andrew! I must say that your title for your topic research blog post really drew me in. I am a big fan of ghosts and anything supernatural in general, even if I am a bit of a chicken when I am alone in the dark. I have heard about OU’s ghosts, but I have never really heard the stories in detail.
